About the Job:

Star Group is seeking candidates with 0-5 years' experience to join our technology support team. An IT Helpdesk Engineer should possess enthusiasm, dedication, and self-motivation. Candidates should have a strong sense of ownership, openness to new ideas, and desire to continue to learn.

The IT Helpdesk Engineer serves as a core support for company software, applications and hardware. This person’s primary duty is to troubleshoot and assist users with MAC OS X systems including MacPro, MacBook Pro, and MacBook Air laptops; as well as iPhones and iPads. He or she answers questions and helps resolve problems via telephone, e-mail or in person. In addition, they roll out new computers, OS X upgrades and software.

Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot and repair user issues with Apple hardware and software.
  • Troubleshoot and repair user issues with PC hardware and software.
  • Log all reported issues and user interaction into ticketing system
  • Ensure user satisfaction and provide quality IT support by fully adhering to the IT department's incident management process
  • Perform general maintenance and system administration tasks.
  • Participate in rotating on-call responsibilities.
  • Identify and escalate situations requiring urgent attention.
  • Stay current with all existing applications and hardware.

General Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or relevant experience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to quickly learn new technologies.
